Welcome!Posted by Danegar on 15-Oct-07 06:27pmWelcome to The Light of Elendil! Pardon us while I make changes and additions to the site. Trying to provide the best page possible for you guys. So you want to know a little about who we are?- The Light of Elendil was founded in closed beta by Danegar HalfHand in order to basically test out how kinships worked and so he and his fiance' Skaetha Skydancer could have their own little neat Kinship Title under their names. Eventually through the course of beta testing LotRO we met a lot of really great people, and as beta went on the Kinship grew and grew. We are now on the Elendilmir server and enjoying the game to it's fullest.- What kind of people do we look for? First and foremost we look for mature, friendly folks who aren't needy and like to help one another out. That's the foundation. People of a like mind that want to enjoy the game together. Along those lines that means that the members aren't overly offensive, too easily offended, like to avoid drama, and most importantly have fun. - The majority of us are Tokien fans and enjoy a nice immersive environment set int he world that J.R.R. Tolkien created. Which means we also require all members to at least have a name suitable to the books. It may not be 100% elvish, or dwarven, or what have you, but it has to at least be fitting. 3l337 d00d names are flat out not allowed. Sure there are a lot of great people who have pretty lame names, but unless you can make the effort to create a name that you could reasonably expect to see in the books, don't bother looking for membership.- Last, but not least, we are a kinship comprising of 20 - 50 year old players. Quite often the topics discussed are of a more mature nature ( usually not graphic and certainly not "cyborz me! yar yar hump hump", but quite often just topics that we feel are innapropriate for minors ) so we only accept members 18 years or older. You may feel this is discriminatory if you are under 18, however your civil rights do not cover membership to my Kinship so don't bother trying to guilt us into inviting you, it's not going to happen. Some may wonder why we don't just make our kinship chat PG... the reason is simple, I don't like placing rules and regulations on the members of the kinship and I shouldn't have to.- If you agree with all that is stated above, look us up... you will likely be welcomed.
