Guild ranks explained

Posted by Eisenban on 16-Dec-08 09:56pm

Ira Deorum is growing.

Within the last month, our activity on a nightly basis has doubled. A full guild group for RvR, scenarios, PQs and dungeon crawling are all things that members of ID are becoming accustomed to seeing. This is good, not just for the growth of the guild, but for each individual member. Why play alone when you can enjoy the kind company that ID has to offer?

Because of our growth, I have created a few new ranks as a means to encourage loyalty and a way for new members to see who the veteran members are.

Here is how our guild rankings break down:

Initiate: Initiates are new members to the guild family. They will have to show their commitment and strength of spirit if they desire to become a full member. Please note, these characteristics can be seen prior to attaining the rank of initiate through ID's careful observation of players in-game, thus making the progression to full member either faster or slower, depending on the player.

Member: Once an initiate has shown his or her commitment, they are granted the right to become a full member of ID. Members have access to the first guild bank and are encouraged to deposit and withdraw as needed to ensure the growth of their characters and other members. Acceptance to full membership is a choice made by myself and the other guild officers.

Vassal: ID encourages its members to have fun with WAR, no matter what. For many, this includes making their own personal army of alts. Well, your alts are welcome to our guild if you so choose. There is no limit to how many vassals a player may have. UPDATE: In the circumstance that an alt actually replaces a player's main character — such as the case with Malagast/Tundra — the alt may ascend the ranks of the guild hierarchy, as a means to show the player's contribution to the guild. In other words, not all vassals are equal in stature.

Bearer: Nothing signifies a character's pride in his or her guild than hoisting ID's battle standard up high. Don't let it's designation on the totem pole deceive you, more so than any other rank, the bearer is a title that is very selective and only meant for a specific few. As it stands right now, we are allotted two standard bearers; myself and one other. At guild rank 20, two more members may be granted the honorable title.  UPDATE: Bearers may capture and claim keeps in the name of ID. Acceptance to the title of bearer is a choice made by myself and the other guild officers.

Veteran: Veterans are those players who have been with the ID family for a long time. They have earned a spot as trusted individuals, deserving of both their suggestions and ideas to be heard. Veterans have helped the guild grow, and in many ways, are the backbone of the guild, thus providing them with an insight into the workings of the guild. Their knowledge and suggestions are both appreciated and taken to heart. UPDATE: Veteran members may capture and claim keeps in the name of ID. Acceptance to the title of veteran is a choice made by myself and the other guild officers.

Elite: The elite are among the best of the best, not only in their spirit on the battlefield, but in their drive to command leadership within the guild. Members who attain the rank of elite are sworn veterans who have and will continue to bleed for the banner of ID. They are fierce. They are trusted. They are the elite. UPDATE: Elite members may capture and claim keeps in the name of ID. Acceptance to the title of elite is a choice made by myself and the other guild officers.

Founder: The founders — the six individuals who breathed life into ID — make up the inner council. There is no one else who has as much say as to the direction of the guild as the founders do. Founders are our most honored members, for without them, ID would not exist. It was their efforts pre-launch that allowed ID to be created in the first few days of the game going live. Their preparations and dedication to creating this community shall forever be remembered. The founders of Ira Deorum include myself (Tulane), Namulith, Lady Katesh, Malagast, Squarm and BunkaiUPDATE: Founders may capture and claim keeps in the name of ID.

Officer: Guild officers are the right hand of the guild leader. They are the most loyal of the roster, always putting the guild before themselves. They strive to build the guild with quality players and strong alliances, while always keeping the guild's integrity in check. They are brave warriors and devoted friends, deserving of my upmost respect and reverence. Any issue that a member of ID may have with another member or prospect should first be brought to the attention of an officer. UPDATE: Officers may capture and claim keeps in the name of ID. Acceptance to the title of guild officer is made solely by myself....
