Can you believe I was locked out?

Posted by Shishio on 29-Sep-09 08:13am Ok, well I paid for another month of my vent server so Insert Quarter can use it.If you don't know what vent is, it is a voice communication program that you can use while in-game.
the "Ventrilo" web page can be found here http://www.ventrilo.com/ here you will find the "Ventrilo" download, once you've downloaded it, run the program.
after its been open, step by step follow the instructions....
1. Where it says "user name", click the arrow and type in the desired user name (preferably something we'll know) and click ok.
2. Go to where it says "server" and click the arrow, once inside click on the "new" button then, everything goes where I've labeled it here, once that's done press ok.
3. You will log into the server by pressing "connect" and you should connect to the server and see a few channels and a welcoming message (just close that message out).
4. You'll want to set up your mic as "press to talk". To do so you will... go into "setup" on the right hand side, once you are in "setup" check the boxes that say "Use Push To Talk Hotkey" (PTT Mode) and "Use Direct Input to detect Hotkey", after you have done that you can select a key you wish to hold every time you talk (cuts back on back ground noise).
5. You'll want to "enable" "Use DirectSound" for both input and output.
If someone is to quiet right-click on his/her name and go into the "Miscellaneous" setting and click on "special effects" once you are in "special effects" go through the list until you find "Volume" and add that to the list. Once you've added "Volume" to the list a slide-bar will show up. Now if they are too loud move the slider left, if they are to quiet move the slider right.

*IF YOU ARE USING VISTA YOU MUST RIGHT-CLICK THE VENTRILO DESKTOP ICON AND "SET AS ADMIN" TO BE ABLE TO USE YOUR PTT BUTTON WHILST IN-GAME*

Last but not least please keep in mind only 10 people can be in the server at once, I'm a bit short on cash at the moment so its all i could afford to up-keep. If more than 10 people become interested I'll try to pull some strings and make more room.

Posted by x-x-rain-x-x on 11-Aug-09 10:28pm Okay, so, since I believe this guild of mine should be heavily driven off communication, and just pure friendly leisure I decided to implement a IRC chat channel for people who visit the site. I HIGHLY incourage all to use it.Okay so there are two ways to do this.
1. Your not a member and you'd like to just chat, simply type in a username and start chatting, if the username is already taken you'll have to refresh the page.
2. You happen to BE a member, then I need you to actually register your username. First type in a username (no pw) and enter our room. then type this... (might wanna ctrl+c then ctrl+v)
/msg nickserv register password email
The only thing you have to change is the password and email, simply replace password to the password youd like to use and replace the email with YOUR email. the when you have it, should look something like this...
/msg nickserv register doggy myemail@provider.com
where doggy is my pw, and myemail@provider.com is my email. the you press enter or click send... you should recieve a message saying it was saved or something like that.
Now when you return, use the same username and enter he password. No one can have your username now that it is registered.
Shall we all talk at a normal pace now? ^^
