A Few Things to Begin

Posted by Fritzi on 21-Dec-07 04:47pm

For starters, I have a few things I need everyone to do for me.

Okay, I need everyone to go to their respective spaces in the forum to introduce yourself and create a link to your armory page. If you are the first to post in your forum, please create a thread called "Introductions" or something similar. You should be posting in one of three places (if you are a hybrid... please just post somewhere): Healers, DPS, or Tanks.

Recruiting for the Guild will not officially start until after the holidays (even though there's been a huge response to the reformation of Gnomercy). Because of this, position leads will not be announced until early January 2008. Those positions will be Healer Lead, DPS Lead, and Tank Lead. If they are not already, leads for each will be promoted to Officer standings. (For the record, there's no way in hell I'm going to be a lead... organizing all of this is enough for me)

As you all should know already, we have a Ventrilo server and you will be required to at least be able to listen in on announcements through Vent. Also, I need all participating raiders to get the Omen threat meter. In addition, you might like to have a damage meter that also gauges DPS. The damage results WILL be posted for boss fights. If this hurts your feelings, do something about it. If you can see what you're cranking out on trash and bosses, you'll be more competitive to better yourself. Some add-on like Big Wigs or Deadly Boss mod will serve you well. Also, if you are able to remove curses, dispel magic effects, etc, you MUST have decursive or something similar. (okay recap: vent, omen, dmg meter (optional), boss mod, decursive)

To choose raid participants, I will be referring to the Event Calendar feature of this site. Because of this, please sign up. PLEASE NOTE: if you are not selected to raid with the attending group, you are encouraged to raid with another guild or a pick-up group... however, if someone from first-night does not show, clearly you can't attend if you're saved with some other raid group.

It won't be set in stone just yet, but I'm looking at Gnomercy raiding about 3-4 nights a week, one of those being progression. Also, for progression, you will not be prioritized to raid if you do not attend other events (like Karazhan). Please respond to this if you have any issues with the raiding schedule or preferred nights to do so. We will raid at 7 PM server time unless otherwise announced.

Raiding is a great opportunity to build community, see content, and have a fucking blast. If you have issues with another guild member, go to them first... then an officer... then me if you're really desperate. Several people are here to escape drama of other guilds. So here's a warning, if you are bringing the drama in addition to the noise, you'll be warned. Kiss and make up or some shit.

Also, as your umm leader thing, I will NOT tolerate BSing around in raids... I mean, talking and whatever is fine on things like Kara when the basic strategy is straightforward. I am referring specifically to people not fulfilling their duties. If DPS is slacking or healers are sucking or tanks are consistently losing aggro, I will not hesitate to call the raid. None of us have time to screw around.

You will also be required to make at least an attempt at improving your gear outside of raiding. I completely sympathize with the decked out *cough* leieuandfritzi *cough* but for those of you who aren't, please run heroics. PvP. Do whatever to get that gear and improve your skills. There should be enough people online to at least take one of them with you. PUGs strengthen your abilities to work with people and adapt to sometimes trying situations. I encourage it. In addiiton, PvP improves your ability to think on your feet. Undoubtedly we'll get some premades going... and I know Deadlyrogue in Odyssey loves to spam Trade for premade groups... and he rocks that shit so give it a try.

I KNOW THIS WAS A LOT TO READ. I'm really sorry. I just had to lay lines down before people started asking questions about what we're doing, where we're headed, and how we plan on getting there (logistically speaking). So there you have it.

OH YEAH, one last thing... as for DKP, don't worry about it just yet. Nothing in Karazhan is going to have anything to do with DKP anyway. Everyone needs that stuff... and none of it is really hard to obtain... so yeah. I'll get back to you on progression later.

Love you Guys. Don't fuck up.
