Lottery
Posted by Coldbeast on 09-Jul-09 09:17am
Ok everyone,
I heard a while back that our guild used to do a guild lottery. I thought this would be a really fun thing to do and will be a nice way to help people out if they get lucky. I will be running a Lottery via guild Lottery addon from Curse.com. This is not a ban able offense for those of you who are wondering.
How it Works,
I will be posting on GeM when we will start each Lottery. I will be running them constantly. Each one will last 2 weeks. This might change. I will do the drawings on a Friday an hour before raid time. So at 7 server. This way it will not affect raiding or anything else that might be going on.
How you Play,
What you will need to do is send me a mail in game saying how many tickets you want and send the money. I will then create the tickets for you and mail the numbers back to you. Anytime you want to check the status of the lottery, either your numbers or how it is going, you can whisper me (Coldbeast) the word lottery. This will show you the current jackpot price and all of your ticket numbers.
How you Win,
When it comes time to do the drawing the addon does a random roll in the ticket number range. The number rolled will be the winner. In wich case they will get the Jackpot gold (via mail or trade depending on if you are on) however there might be a chance that an odd number is rolled in wich case there is no winner. If this occurs I will make sure the next lottery has a higher starting jackpot. the rest of the gold will go to the guild bank. The guild will recieve 10% of the jackpot even if there is a winner so this is a great way to increase our guild banks gold.
Questions,
If you have any questions about how it works or how to check the info about the lottery feel free to ask me or go to www.curse.com and search for guild lottery. This will bring up the addon for the lottery. If you scroll down it will show you the comands to whisper or say in guild to get the info you are looking for.
This I hope is going to be a lot of fun and I hope everyone is able to enjoy it. It may take me a few weeks to get it going perfectly but I promise you You will not be cheated out of your gold.
Thanks Coldbeast.

Bosses, Guides, and more!
Posted by Rylus on 15-May-09 04:36am
Hey everyone (again),
I've spent some time tonight gathering various guide and making them easily available to you. Most of these guides are from the Elitist Jerks website and I encourage everyone to go to their forums and read more. The people there spend a lot of time and effort to make these guides so people can benefit from them, they are an invaluable resource that should be utilized.
I'm making this REQUIRED reading. I know, you've played for a long time, you know your class, but still, go read anyway. No one ever knows everything and everyone has something to learn! This is meant to help our raids as a whole, the more we know about the classes we play the better we are with them. So remember, I'm making this REQUIRED, if you don't read these you're not just hurting yourself, but your other raid members as well!

State of Raids
Posted by Rylus on 15-May-09 04:08am
Hey everyone,
I want to address the current raiding situation, since there seems to be some confusion.
On Fridays I will -always- plan to be doing an Ulduar raid. If we have a poor turnout on raid sign-ups we will move to a Nax run since it is more pug friendly.
On Saturdays we plan to do more attempts into Ulduar. However, Saturday turn outs have started to be extremely poor, if they continue to be poor I'll start doing 10man Ulduar runs.
As you notice this leaves no time for Nax runs on the weekends. I'm currently working out a way to get heroic Nax runs in, I'm currently looking at a weekday raiding schedule for it, possibly Saturday or Sunday as well. We're close to the point to where a 25man Nax is a one day thing. I'll be open to suggestions on what days people would like Nax runs to be done.
Also, as you have noticed Whippet has been leading Nax raids when I cannot make it. He is now going to be my second raid leader. I expect you all to treat him in EXACTLY the same manner you treat me
One last thing in this post! We haven't been using it in Nax lately, but Suicide Kings loot system is alive and well, it will be started to be used in Whippet's raids.
Thanks, MGMT

Group Calendar UPDATE
Posted by Rylus on 25-Mar-09 09:28pm
We are moving over to Guild Event Manager for managing our raids. You can find it on Curse listed as GuildEventManager, version 3 is the one you want.
Also, here is a link: GuildEventManager
All raids will now be posted there, feel free to remove GroupCalendar.
------------------------------------------------ For those of you that don't know Blizzard has recently changed its addon TOS and included that addons may not sell their addons nor ask for donations inside the game. Since this change Group Calendar's author has decided to pull the addon and not allow it to be downloaded. He also uploaded "dummy" files to curse, if you use the auto-updater or updated yesterday your group calendar may no longer work. Right now I'm asking everyone with a working GC to continue to sign themselves up as normal.
If you don't have a working copy or don't have it (if you don't have it, I want to let you know you did seriously, seriously luck out on this) please send me an in-game mail with the name of your character that you want me to sign up -as well as the role you wish to be (tank, melee dps, ranged dps, or healer). I will take sign-ups on a first come first serve basis.
I will be exploring other options for raid sign-ups over the next week to remedy the problem.
Thanks Rylus/Akulu
