Watcher + Turtle
Posted by HstoutNH on 25-Jun-09 10:16pm
Since the Watcher and the Turtle are open twice a week now. We should compile a list of people interested and what times are best. We can set up a Run on Fri night EST, since it seems to be a convent. I'll wait to hear from at least 10 more people before I start posting events.

Vent info and Setup
Posted by Auggi on 09-Apr-09 04:52pm
Leiyla and I have a vent server we can use for Moors runs and PVE raids. We have been using it quite often lately and we figured a how to post would be handy.
The info is:
Server - hammer.clanvent.com Port - 5166 Password - hammertime
If you do not have vent set up please go here --->http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php and download the appropriate client for your OS.
Then open the client and click the right facing arrow next to server and enter the server, port and password info from above.
Once this is done you should be able to connect.
Once connected there are alot of options that are user specific. The basics for these options are reached by going to the setup window via the client's navigation buttons. A new window will open.
One option I would recommend is push to talk (PTT). Basically you need to depress a key that you choose to open and close your mic which prevents unwanted sounds from being heard by others in the vent channel i.e dog barking in background, husband/wife, GF/BF aggro, Auggi wipes the raid and you yell "learn to play" "you suck" etc...
The way to do this is make sure the "Use push to talk hotkey (PTT Mode)" & "Use direct input to detect hotkey" boxes are checked and then click anywhere in the "hotkey" window and press the button on the keyboard you would like to use as PTT key and it will list that key there.
That's really it. There are alot of options in vent and you can go here and learn about some of them--->http://www.ventrilo.com/faq.php and the rest are accessed via the "HELP" key built into the client you just downloaded.
But the basics should be setup at this point all you need to do is find the channel everyone is in i.e the "raid" channel double click it to enter that channel and you should be able to hear your kinnies and if you have a mic, talk as well.
My recommendation to all would be if you don't have it setup take the time and do it. You only need to do it once and it will prevent us from wasting time when we raid PVE & PVP, plus in those situations communication is king!
Hope this helps gang! - Auggi out!
