We are a destruction guild on the Karak-Norn Server focused on endgame dungeons and T4 ORvR & scenarios. We are currently recruiting active, mature and skilled T4 players who are interested in exploring and excelling in both the RVR and PVE aspects Warhammer: Age of Reckoning.

A new dawn for HoB! [MUST READ]

Well where to start... hmmm... lets start with the current state of the game and the destro faction. Clearly ORvR is not what it once used to be, zones flip in an instant, the game mechanics encourage zerg tactics to push the campaign, city sieges occur 2-4 times a day.

I think we can all agree none of the above is desirable.. even when it's destro zerging towards Altdorf, let alone when it's the overwhelming order bombzerg.

As a guild Hand of Blood has always managed to find fun in WAR and we are keen above all else for that to continue, in spite of whatever obstacles Mythic & GOA send our way. For the last couple of months we attempted to pick up the banner from the old guard of ORvR guilds (CIR & VOP), for a while this worked well... numbers were strong in the guild warband and we had a strong alliance, we had some nice fights which helped keep order in check.

However more recently our numbers have levelled out at around 2-3 groups of skilled, active and enthusiastic players and the alliance has crumbled around us, as such we do not feel we have the potential or the desire to fight the order zerg. The time has come to re-evaluate our aims as a guild and find more rewarding pursuits to keep us having fun in WAR. What follows is our outline for what we intend to focus on as a guild over the next few months at least.

Key aims

Leave the zerg & lag behind (or at least try to)
Focus on our core members who log in every night and make HoB the guild it is
Further our reputation in small/medium-scale RvR (2-3 groups up to 1 wb vs. 1 wb)
Continue to form kick ass scen groups every evening
Stricter recruitment to ensure we only get committed members who can provide classes we are lacking
Have fun!

In order to achieve these aims there will be a small amount of guild and alliance restructuring.

Guild restructuring

Within HoB we will be re-evaluating our membership, making sure that ALL the members on our roster are keen to be involved with what we have planned and are active enough to be online at least 3-4 times a week for a substantial amount of time.

In order to perform well in RvR and scens we need members who are active and willing to always join guild activities, the key is having people used to working together in set, or at least familiar, groups.

A typical evening would involve joining the guild warband (or merging scen parties together to form a warband), we would then create balanced and effective groups within the wb trying our best to keep tried and tested premades together. We would then head to the quieter zones to hunt for some fights, queue for scenarios or head to city sieges.. whatever seems most applicable on the night.

New alliance

In order to help us with this slightly altered outlook to WAR we will be leaving our current alliance which is focused on the campaign and will be entering into a new alliance.

Our new alliance partnership will be with Moonlapse, the destro guild which appears to share our new aims the best. The aim is for a tight relationship but with both guilds free-standing and capable under their own steam. A typical evening would still be run as mentioned as above, however the alliance will give both guilds the potential to help balance groups and extra options should there be lose members online in either guild who are looking for some action.

On top of this we would work together where necessary in RvR if either guild could use back up in a scrap. We also plan to run PvE on the same nights to increase our ability to aid each other in RvR on other nights and to help fill groups for dungeons.

Furthermore if it is a quiet night for either guild their will be the opportunities for members to join each other warbands / groups....

Key notes from Guild Meeting

Grats on guild rank 36 and 150mil+ renown - just 1 rank from speedy mounts!

New guild crest system - When in guild only groups and warbands rr60+ members to only need on Warlord & Royal crests, members below rr60 to only need on Conqueror & Invader crests... also just as important to start greeding again once you complete the sets in your bracket.

Required addons - Calling, Target Ring, Guild Warden & Follow my Lead - Download and install them NOW

Guild schedule - Updated and more defined guild schedule, officer led events starting every evening at 7GMT (8CET) - Warbands Tues, Weds, Fri & Sat, PvE Sun/Mon, guild premades on Thurs. We look forward to people embracing the schedule and joining in with whatever is happing each evening.

Unscheduled events - Use forums to pose ideas for events, ask officers to create events you would like to see in guild calendar, make sure you pick suitable times (ie. not between 7-11pm GMT)

Use of the website - USE IT MOAR! A reminder to guildies to check the website at least every couple of days, a lot of our important info gets posted here b4 it gets mentioned in game.

Guild bank - Tab 1 = Free for all pots etc. Tab2/3 = Talis and Gear which can be requested from any officer. Tab 4 = Endgame talis and gear (due to short supply talis are restricted for DP/WL and other high level gear sets)

Guild ranks - New rank of Praetorian, awarded to members who show an excellent attitude, longstanding members, those who are highly active/entusiastic/helpful and guys that regularly contribute to the website

Guild limitations - yes we're only human and have limitations... although we hope not too many! However plz do be aware that no matter how hard we try we can't please all the people all of the time... So bare with us as we try to please the majority of people as much of the time as possible.

Any other business - Set groups: we do not have a problem with people creating set groups for dungeons, however we do ask that you start dungeons within the times allocated in the shedule (Sun/Mon) and plz let officers know who is in the group.

There is already a set(ish) progression group running VL aiming to clear the dungeons and learn all the fights, once this has been achieved that group will split to help other groups clear the dungeon. (Xzi has already split from this group to try to aid people in clearing at least the first 4-5 bosses)

Guild website: We are planning to recreate the guild website away from the gamerdna platform, if anyone is able and keen to help with this please get in touch with an officer

HoB Weekly Schedule

Just a quick heads up... I've updated the HoB weekly schedule to greater reflect what we generally get up to and when.

Main idea is to try to get all the PvE out of the system at the start of the week (Sunday & Monday) leaving us free for RvR smushing the rest of the time

Of course if groups need to finish off a boss or whatever after Monday that's no problem, but ideally the majority of people should be able and keen to RvR with us from Tuesday till Saturday.

Depending on numbers this will either be as a HoB warband, as a mixed alliance warband on our vent, or failing that, as scenario premades/roaming groups.

HoB... now 1 year old!

Well who'd have thought it, a year on WAR & HoB are still going strong!! Both have changed multiple times over the last year, however right now both are in great shape! Our guild may not have grown hugely in numbers, however it has grown immeasurably in experience and reputation and that is something we are immensely proud of! Of course that is down to you guys, our excellent and endlessly entertaining members, so thank you for a completely brilliant year of HoB.

We have truly grown into a force to be reckoned with in scens and ORvR and a brief foray into the server forums confirms this with more and more mentions for our little guild of smushers in the best guild and best player threads which means we must certainly be doing something right.

And (importantly) unlike other guilds we manage this success without being "hard-core" or taking ourselves too seriously, HoB is all about having fun and enjoying what WAR has to offer... the quality Order smushing is just a happy bi-product of that. Long may it continue in the years to come!

So guess it's about time for an old fashioned Xzi style HoB update... see below

Rank 35!!! This gives us all sorts of benefits for our members (colourful mounts, transportation scrolls, crafting matts and a huge guild vault) we've also racked up over 115 million renown!

We already have great success in scenarios, dungeons and in small scale in ORvR, however we would love to take this onto the next level and get greater numbers into the guild warband on battlefields! We want to take more time to support our excellent alliance in ORvR in this new age of Order resurgence. It's our aim to get together in our own nice balanced guild warband when in ORvR (all on vent ofc). I'm sure that with the support of our current HoBs and a few new recruits we can make this a reality! Lets make our enemies fear the words "Hand of Blood"!

DUNGEON SCHEDULE - Our dungeon schedule is now well established, with new groups starting each week on the main endgame dungeons every Sunday night. Sign up on the calendar and get involved, however bare in mind that RvR is still a priority for HoB.

Zhe Alliance! Our alliance, Zhe Imperial Pact, is still the premier alliance on Norn, currently consisting of: HoB, CIR, VoP, Unnamed & HoD. We have over 100 online each night and have masterminded many successful pushes to Altdorf. Over the coming weeks/months we will be working more closely together to counter the new Order arrivals from K8P.

Career leaders: ... Mavve (Chosen), Lethy (WE), Genne (Marauder), Xzi (Zealot), Snikkit (Squig Herder), Iccarus/Asrok (Black Guard), Lokax (Black Orc), Cythonna (Sorcerer) Mimz (Shammy)... got questions about your class? These guys have the answers... we've even created new forums specificaly for each class.

“Da Baddest Gitz!!”… the leader boards have been off-line for a while but are currently in the process of being updated as we continue to dominate Order in scenarios with our HoB premades! We have also added a shiny video section to this page.. check it out
