Another Quarter bites the dust!

Greetings Softcorians! 
What a fun and exciting raiding week this was!! Yet again we have made considerable progress in ye olde Ulduar! It’s pretty incredible when you think about it. We’ve only been working in Ulduar for 3 weeks (only two were official raiding weeks since we had mother’s day!) and yet we’ve already completed the first two quarters!! Not too shabby for a guild that likes to drink beer and only raid 2 nights a week! This week we took on the Antechamber of Ulduar bosses!! These fights required quite a bit of movement, communication, and coordination to pull off. Oh… and staying out of caca, oie! Great job to everyone who participated… it’s pretty incredible we downed them all in one week! Want to reminisce over our latest kills or just see what all the fuss is about Ulduar? I’d have to say this week the sweetest boss downing was Auriaya and all her damned pouncing cat/dogs! I know that was a tricky pull and the tanks did a great job of it once they figured it all out. Plus, whoever it was that said we should just not kill the Defender… I <3 you! She was making me cranky and as soon as we stopped killing the dang Defender the fight got easy. Woot for people reading up and making suggestions when we’re having a hard time!!! As always, Check out Spice’s WWS post. If you’d like help, please please PLEASE don’t be afraid to ask someone!! People are always happy to help out or give suggestions on where you can find good info… after all when someone improves, we improve as a group! J The Ulduar bosses have been fun and also more difficult than those we came up against in Naxx25 so I’d like to give a special THANK YOU! to everyone who has been coming prepared with flasks, raid food (and thank you Hellguy for providing fish feasts all over the place!), knowledge of the fights, and the mad skillz to down the bosses! You guys make the guild’s progress in Ulduar so much smoother! I forgot to put up Ulduar for next weekend but I’ll toss it up there when I get home. Again, way to kick booty everyone and I hope you’re all able to make it for next week! Cheers!

Pull! A video about efficient raiding

I'm sure most of you have seen this already but I still find it interesting. While we obviously would not want to do this on trash and bosses that are brand new to us, it may be interesting to try some of these techniques once we are getting 4 or so bosses down regularly and we want to pick up the pace so we have more time on the newer bosses. I really liked..
- tank/heal pairs for enhanced communication
- one healer assigned to rezzes
- the stopwatch idea and trying to beat your time form the previous raid
- sparating out jobs in the raid.. the last part of the vid
- pre-planned pee/snack breaks
Anyway, thought I would share and see if others found things that they thought would improve our raids. There's a part 2 apparently but my husband is going to kill me if I don't go grocery shopping so I'l watch it later, enjoy! |
