Watcher + Turtle
Posted by HstoutNH on 25-Jun-09 10:16pm
Since the Watcher and the Turtle are open twice a week now. We should compile a list of people interested and what times are best. We can set up a Run on Fri night EST, since it seems to be a convent. I'll wait to hear from at least 10 more people before I start posting events.

Radiance Set - Hard Mode Instances
Posted by kaldris on 13-Jan-09 11:19am
I think a lot of you are getting to level 60 now and you're probably wondering what to do (aside from levelling your alts
The answer is: the quest must go on.
Once you have a fairly decent L60 gear, the Knights of Niennor will help you complete the major Moria instances in hard mode. Hard mode is basically doing the major Moria instances in a special way. Sometimes you have to not kill too many sentries (GF), sometimes you have to not fight a boss in light (DD) etc.
RADIANCE SET The Radiance Set has all 6 major armour pieces (chest, leggings, shoulders, boots, gloves, helm).
WATCHER IN THE WATER You NEED 5/6 Radiance pieces to fight the Watcher in the Water (the squid creature that assailed the Fellowship when they first entered Moria). The Watcher in the Water has something like 16 dread(!) and is practically impossible without 5/6 Radiance.
Each Radiance piece is obtained by obtaining a Platinum Coin, received when you kill the last boss in the major Moria instances in hard mode. The coin is redeemed for the armour piece.
Here is a URL to lore.cc which lists the Radiance pieces, and from which Moria instance they are received from (including a full walkthrough of tactics). http://lore.cc/index.cgi?i=3422
One special note: the helm and shoulders of the Radiance set are NOT set pieces.. but they do give Radiance. When you eventually defeat the Watcher in the Water you can upgrade your non-set pieces to full Radiance-set pieces. Sound confusing... yeah I agree.
AND THEN...? It's believed the later on new instances will open up. Rumour has it another Balrog (or even 2!) exist in Moria. You'll need full Radiance sets to even be able to enter their presence (or so it's said).
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? Sign up for ALL instances you can (click on Events menu to the left). Spam Dastardly. Keep an eye on kin chat to see if your services are required (for the Free Peoples!)
