"The Ancient Order is a Multi-game guild and community for mature gamers who share a similair vision and philosophy.

The Order was founded on 5 december 2003 in Horizons:Empire of istaria as the guild "The Ancient Order of Istarian Knights".
The guild went though Horizons turbulent history, surviving server merges and atrittion caused by the poor hosting of the game, eventually rising up to become one of the better known guilds in the game.
Two of the three mods that were considered "must have" for Horizons were made by the Ancient Order.
During this time members of Order decided the simple guild should become a multi-game community for mature, like-minded gamers.
Almost a year later our simple 5 page html site was replaced with the first version of this portal

The Ancient Order of Istarian Knights is still fighting for Istaria on the Unitas server.

The Order was active in World of Warcraft for a while but has since abandoned the game and no longer has an active Guild Branch there.
Many AO members continue to play WOW in the various guilds the Ancient Order befriended on Azeroth.

The Ancient Order aims to provide a haven for those who want to get away from the obnoxious "l33t" ROFLMAOLOLBBQ!!11! type players that are unfortunatly present in every online game.
The ancient order believes in casual play at your own pace, assisting each other in various goals and figthing side by side for whatever cause we may be fighting for.
The Ancient Order is not a raiding guild but raiding can be a part of the guild.
We see ourselves as a roleplay lite guild, full roleplay or non-rp are both welcome though.

the ancient order is ragtag collection of induviduals.
we have members from all walks off life, ranging from hardworking business folk, parents, shopkeepers, standard game nerds, furries, IT personel, everything.

To all of us the most important thing in our pilisophy is to just have fun."
