Zombie Invasion Over

Blizzard caved to the overwhelmingly negative response from users and have ended the zombie invasion early. I thought it was a pretty nifty experiment, and really made the world of Azeroth feel dangerous for once. However, one thing Blizzard got right was WoW's solo play, and having set that precedent, they can't remove player choice without input, and overnight. There were also implementation issues (in particular, unattackable zombies in Shattrath due to its sanctuary status). I'm hoping we'll see big crazy events like this in the future!

I'm so glad I stopped playing WoW, that game had the whiniest player bases I've ever seen. When I used to play Asheron's Call one of the monthly events was an elemental invasion, which made the world incredibly dangerous but was a lot of fun and made the world feel interesting. The zombie invasion sounded like fun to me, but I guess all the crybabies didn't want any real challenge.
