Blizzard makes WoW wish come true for young boy with brain tumor

"The diagnosis isn't good; metastatic cancer. Splitting headaches started in March, which led to an emergency room visit in April. Doctors had to sedate him for the pain and he didn't wake up for a week. Groggy and weak in the hospital, Chatterton only wanted to play the massively multiplayer online game World of Warcraft."

Thats cool, people give blizzard a hard time about not caring about peoples lives, and that the yjsut get people addicted...i wanna say that blizzard showed HUGE class, in not just having him make a fake quest, but the kid designed a patch for WoW, and the yhave in in the game...way to go blizzard :D.

That is truly incredible! I think its awesome that they granted him his last wish! Lucky squirt! I'm gonna find the character with the dog! I thinks cool. Oh and to you haters, have a heart, what if it was you?

I think this was a very nice thing for blizzard to do, that helped the kid feel special, and since he may die soon. I thought this was the best thing ever. And to all you haters out there saying how come he got free stuff anc crap like that, he has a freakin brain tumor, and he may die, get a heart why don't ya.

i think it is easy to understand, in life he is crippled, in an online game, he can be a hearty warrior or spell wielding mage of immense power or a sneaky rogue able to bypass obstacles.

i think it is great what blizzard did.

Blizzard was nice to do that, but sensational, lol. Me and the guildies had a good laugh about that. Still, the fact that the kid only wanted to play WoW for his wish is kinda sad, anyone?

Disturbing, here's the board meeting just before this event happened.

The Blizzard CEO: "So, you're telling me we're not going to be able to milk more people as effectively as we've been doing so far?"
A Blizzard employee: "Yes, the initial surge has died down, we're going to lose money and eventually the game will die."
CEO: "NO! That cannot happen, lets give a boy cancer and use him as a PR trick."
The employee: "Good idea."
The employee grabs his mug made of pure gold filled with a fine brandy from 1965 and takes a sip.
The employee: "So... how do we give him cancer?"

And well, the rest is history.
