Kinda difficult to get excited with an unknown development team and little real info on the basic premise of the game. Seems kinda Tabula Rasa with a little more emphasis on the FPS to me, but looks interesting enough for those who are getting sick of the 'go out, slay a dragon' style of games we're inundated with at the mo. Its also stated that its designed to be cross platform, and i'm kinda wary of those sort of games, they tend to be too simplistic (a nasty trend in the industry at the moment, dumbing down )

What bothers me more is the fact, that many companies that develop MMOs are founded purely for that purpose (and are often named after their product or vice versa). Now you have this new company with unknown capabilities, no codebase to rely on and no name in the industry. Why is it a good idea to trust them to accomplish on of the biggest feats in the games industry (perhaps aside from developing a new console)?

Of course such companies are needed from time to time to bring new ideas and evolve the genre. The problem is that those developers seem to be the majority.

@Goddess Wills & Syldra.

The announcement seems like industry news, not end user news. They have an alpha test demo available on site for industry testers and their working title is the name of their studios.

[edit] Personally I find this interesting, I mean... vehicles and advanced physics in an mmo! Doesn't sound like another promise but really sounds like "the goal" of the game design.

Syldra, I have only one word for you: /signed.

Does anyone have any statistics on how many MMOs are thought of but never created, started but never finished, completed but never released, or released but considered total failures? I'd vote that a hot topic forever, because people really need to get the picture I think.

I wonder if its a marketing tactic to name the project after your newly formed studios

Sounds interesting though. It's a genre bender, the kind of experimentation I like to see

*sigh* would companies please stop announcing their games till they actually have something to show?

Or at least decide on the name first?
