Well you know we always could go on the game and create our own group called CTU and kick some virtual terrorist butt right?

This report is as stupid as reporting on, it's as stupid as... it's as stupid as reporting on stuff that happens in Second Life as if it were important. This story is as stupid as this story!

"Kevin Zuccato, head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre in Canberra, says terrorists can gain training in games such as World of Warcraft in a simulated environment, using weapons that are identical to real-world armaments."
Yeah, they're going to learn how to fly griffons and cast spells! Go Terrorists Go!

Uneducated people in charge of hich tech crime centres ftw!

I'm having a hard time believing anyone cares. Second Life isn't really even a game! Its makers said so. Though to be honest I don't see how anyone could really use what you can do in that game for real training. Killing avatars of bear people and naked chicks standing in a fake shopping mall with no real time police / emergency response built in to account for its ... .... laughable.

Second Life = huge joke.

In Soviet Russia Second Life... ah nevermind, we just shoot you now, da?

From: samhain on 06-Aug-2007 at 10:32am

omg you can do that in SL? I never knew. Now im thinking of trying it. It seems that SL has integrated its way into RL. Never a good thing for something that should be a game. But ... THINK of the possible avenues to make ppl QQ IRL.

I found especially this hilarious:

"Kevin Zuccato, head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre in Canberra, says terrorists can gain training in games such as World of Warcraft in a simulated environment, using weapons that are identical to real-world armaments."

Al'Quaida terrorist hits police offer with [epic pwn-Sword] for 30.
Police officer laughs at terrorist.
Policeman crits terrorist with Desert Eagle for OMG.
Terrorist dies.

Quote Roxianna "I am having a hard time believing this story."

I'm having a hard time believing that people -want- to mess with that SL tripe.

This is silly. Normal when the mainline media report on gaming. Sad.

I am having a hard time believing this story.
