The downside: boiling oil takes a very long time to cool down again. Well and fishes can't swim in it. ;-)

Halo 3 Zune ... They will try anything to get a piece of ipod
Submitted by Shadow 2613 days ago on Hardware
Microsoft is trying any and everything to get some of ipods action. Who can blame them? Microsoft is releasing a Special edition Zune (wireless MP3 player) with a Halo 3 theme. A great idea from the microsoft office to ride the halo band waggon and get some valuable market share in the MP3 areana.

Microsoft Surface Video
Submitted by Tarinth 2597 days ago on Hardware
This is very cool. Think about the possibilities of combining this with games. Currently, multiplayer games are limited by systems where you have the computer to yourself (the PC) or share some real estate on a console monitor. Boardgames meets computing?

Xbox Deals with Hardware Failure Finally
Submitted by HopeXFails 2561 days ago on Hardware
Xbox addressed the issue of the ''red light of death'' by giving anyone with and Xbox a 3yr Warranty. Doesnt actually solve the problem...but this will have to do for 360 owners until they diagnose and solve the problem at its base.

Rumormill: $100 Pricecut For The PS3 On July 12?
Submitted by Jodou 2561 days ago on Hardware
Looks like this latest rumor is slated to stick despite claims by SCEA that they have no plans to cut the price of the PS3 at present. Circuit City officials seem convinced that such a cut is coming and have prepared an advert for July 15th. http://kotaku.com/assets/resources/2007/07/ps3_price_cut.jpg

Might want to skip that Wireless-N upgrade for now.
Submitted by tekhedd 2483 days ago on Hardware
A patent specter looms over the not-yet-approved 802.11n standard--it most likely will never be approved. On top of that, that Wireless-N router I just bought probably violates somebody's patent, and probably won't work at "N" speeds with future hardware. Dang!

RUMOR: Best Buy Confirms New $399 40GB PS3?
Submitted by Jodou 2473 days ago on Hardware
This one has been flying around for a few days now, but this is the first concrete proof to support such a claim. According to these documents, the new PS3 would be available on 10/28 (although 10/30 is more likely) for a retail price of $399 USD. The package will include the freshly released Spiderman 3 (available 10/30) on Blu-Ray and would coincide with the release of first party title Ratchet & Clank (which was oddly delayed one week despite already having gone gold). Compound this by the fact Sony has promised a 'big-bang' announcement on 10/12, the fact that this would put the PS3 at a competitive price just two weeks before the big holiday rush begins, and you have yourself one fine looking rumor. For those of us who have held out, it truly is a great time to be a buyer.

PS3 Price Drop Official!
Submitted by Jodou 2470 days ago on Hardware
In the UK at least: beginning October 10th, a core model will be made available for £299, but only features two USB 2.0 ports and no longer includes the multi memory card port. It will also lack backwards compatibility with PS2 games. No mention of when we can expect the new model to hit US shores, but recent rumors still point towards a street date of 10/30.
