That's right, certain achievements in the first game may lead to special content in the sequel. Sounds alot like what GW is doing, and I like it. Getting the achievements lead to something more than just the bragging rights. Too bad Gears was lame and too bad I don't expect anything more from the second game. But that's just me.

It's official - Gears of War 2 will be shipping in November 2008. Rumors of the game's announcement had been circulating all week and Gears of War lead designer CliffyB appeared on stage at the last minute of a Microsoft keynote speech at the San Francisco Game Developer's Conference to announce the game and its release date. Stay tuned for more details on what's likely to be one of the most anticipated games for Xbox 360 this year. Trailers and more available!!

Gears Of War PC Gets A Release Date

Mark your calendars for 11/6, because this iteration is bringing home a whole slew of new features. Just shy of one year from release, this update features five new singleplayer chapters, a new "King of the Hill" multiplayer game mode, three new multiplayer maps, a game editor, and the first and last showdown with the infamous Brumak boss. Gears of War for the Xbox 360 is being re-released with a second disc packed with downloadable content from Xbox LIVE. We will not be getting the extra chapters from the PC version though.
