You know, Vista hasn't caused me any problems so far. Granted, I haven't played too many older games, so I don't know what the compatibility issues are looking like for them. However, everything seems to be running fine on my computer, and with SP1 coming up here pretty quick, it should take care of a good number of bugs that some people are seeming to have.

Vista isn't bad for recent games, including games that are updated and patched still. Some games however have problems even under compatibility mode. It's really not a big problem. At least not nearly as big as people are putting it off to be. Microsoft will extend support or lose people if it even comes to that.

Of course Microsoft is going to pretend it's going well. Why are they trying so hard to get into web search? Because OS is irrelevant, really.

Also, Toshibas have problems with --ing everything. Between myself and the boss, we had three (3) toshibas die on us. Never again.

Vista's OK if you like that kind of thing. We order XP on new machines because none of the new features is particularly interesting, yet it requires twice the hardware to get the same performance. Not cost effective.

Every new game works on Vista just fine. For the older ones, you have to right-click and specify "emulate XP" to get them to run. There's a big drop in performance if you emulate XP though.

It took me a couple of weeks to get used to Vista, but I'd never go back to XP now. XP is so vulnerable and featureless compared to Vista.

Accidentally posted twice, but I'll add something.

Don't Toshiba's have a problem with their power adapter anyway? I heard that the wires inside break apart so it won't charge when you plug it in :-\

My brother's laptop has Vista on it. It seems to be doing just fine.

I personally would like it if they didn't change the layout when they make new operating systems. People like what they are used to.

10$ says they are counting coputers that were sold with Vista on them.

I'd PAY to get it off my laptop...

Honestly, I've had zero problems w/ Vista (x64 no less) and gaming. I haven't tested WoW, but a litany of other games work smoothly. A LOT of it comes down to your device drivers. Toshiba owners, watch out.
