4th edition to me seems to have the potential to be a great edition. The online ability that will bring the table top to your computer and out on the net means the ultimate MMO. I can finally find more games to play then just the one campaign I play on the weekend. Also all books you buy will automatically give you a .pdf version; Amazing. Only downside I see if that playing online you do not roll your own dice. Also whats not know is how house rules will work on the online table top.

Being a 1st and 2nd edition player from the old skool dayz, I'm not sure where the franchise has been since then. Didn't try DDO, but this has piqued my interest: I'd like to see the tabletop online content and maybe give it a try for old times sake.

From what I've seen of how the changes they are making it is going to be a good thing. Also the new online features that allow D&D tabletop gaming with people from around the world is going to be interesting to see. However, the monthly fee for the online service does make it seem like they are trying to make more money off of a something that already costs too much. If they lower the price of the actual books and distribute more content online then it may work... all we can do is wait until May 08 and see

4th Ed? Do we need yet another version of the game? Come on, give me a break!
