Crazy or Misguided? Larouche PAC's commentary on games

On the release of Halo 3, the Larouche Politcal Action Committee has declared that America is now the home of a "cybernetics cult" that is destroying our future by infesting it with evil games like Counterstrike, Eve Online, World of Warcraft and Halo 3--and even labels Wikipedia is a a 1984-ish "Ministry of Truth." Read with a critical eye and a high tolerance for wackos.

Another one of those tree-lovin tech-haters... Gaming industry my hole! Look at the latest Hollywood hits like Hostel. Jeez, how sick and perverted you have to be to actually like it... According to some european phychology research institute (can't really remember the name - was a while ago) gaming actually has a pacifying effect on the masses. There reason there's so much violence in US is solely down to the country's social structure and avalability of firearms. Think of it, US is the only country where schools & uneversity students go on killing sprees. The rest of the world plays the same games & have the same psychos. The major difference is that you can actually buy firearms in Wall-, K-marts (have no idea if it's true, but I'm guessing that it pretty darn close) and the likes.
Moreso, that man is just an idiot (put in 2 words)

I apologize in advance for offending anyone if such, for I never intended to.

Tune in next week, when Larouche reports that Microsoft-sponsored evil fairies are souring the milk of homes throughout the Midwest in an attempt to weaken the bones of America's youth, leaving us ripe for invasion.

"Larouche," as we all know, is French for "WAY under-medicated."

Yeesh.

We have 2 ways to deal with people who go "crazy" after games.

1. Hit your kids!
2. Have none one sided testing.

Also number 1 is the cure for ADHD.

Instead of looking at gaming as the cause of the problem, people should probably be more interested in looking at the socio-economic tendencies of society itself, and instead bash their respective governments for manipulation and misdirection of government funding. Games do not send soldiers into war, governments do; Gamers do not go on shooting sprees on college campus, psychopaths do.

I think it ironic how the article writer speaks of "knee-jerk" reactions, when obviously said article is just that. Articles like this one reminds of why I hate narrowminded self-righteous people.

Hahah. I pwnd this guy once and he's bitterly uncompromising since.
Wankers. The good thing about the internet: connectedness. The bad thing about the internet: you're bound to run into some bad apples, or in this case, a whole virtual village full of downright retards that would make people with mental disabilities blush and apologize on their behalf.

From: QforQ on 02-Oct-2007 at 05:18am

Heh, I looked up the guy on wikipedia (lol ironic) and it said he was an anti-semitic person and known for being a conspiracy theorist.

Oh well, dumb looneys. Maybe him and Jack Thompson hang out

Wait.....a site completely comprised of information contributed by.....individuals...is akin to the ministry of truth from 1984? Are you telling me that they failed to make the distinction that one organization was an arm of the government and one organization is literally RUN by the people themselves?

Smoke less crack kthx.

While I agree gaming is slowly eroding peoples lives I do not think that it is as extreme as this article shows. A "cybernetics cult", to me, sounds like a lame excuse to turn gaming into an 'Us vs Them' situation. Personally, I think that this article should have more accurately specified why America is a "cybernetics cult", as in give more specific examples as to the reason why gaming is destroying "our" future.
I think that this is more than a slight exaggeration of a minute problem.

Someone needs to tattoo "Idiot" on these people's foreheads.

The only SLIGHT truth that could come from this whole thing is that people need to start seeing games as entertainment again, not as constant compatition.

We are just running off what thier generation left us.
