I think Yee had a great point about social interactions. Its interesting to think when I first got Oblivion I thought it was a wonderful world and lots of great things to do, see, etc. But it was sitting there one day when I got a new armor set, thinking how neat this looked only to realize that "Who cares?", no one else can share in my experience. I have all these NPC's, beautfiul scene, wonderful fights, but no friends or family to interact or share my experiences with.

I turned it off and went back to my MMO.

I think that hits at the heart of why I find single player games largely boring and always come back to MMOs. It's the social interaction.
