Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women

Santas in Sydney Australia have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women. They have been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead. Common sense, or a new low point for political correctness?

I am a woman and I've never even thought of that reference as being offensive. I think some people will try to take anything and blow it out of proportion just to get attention.

All this political correctness is going too far. I can just see it now. Someone will get all offended while watching Return of the Jedi because Yoda tells Luke "Come..good food" and call for Congress to edit the movie so it won't be offensive. Puh-lease.

Great post..too bad the original article isn't avail anymore.

You have GOT to be kidding me.

Women these days. Santa could say, "A-hole, A-hole, A-hole" to me and I would laugh.

GIMME A BREAK! WTF is wrong with the world today...

From: Xanthier on 18-Nov-2007 at 06:31pm

You know, they could always just say 'Hoe, hoe, hoe!' and when questioned produce a gardening implement. Just to cover their tracks, so to speak.

Just when you think the real problems of the world are being addressed, some fool human goes and makes one up from scratch.

"a new low point for political correctness".

From: Darth Sirov on 18-Nov-2007 at 07:55am

During the time they made up the holidays, hoes weren't even the term to describe sluts or such, they were called Harlots. I know... it is just such a weird case of censoring when there's really nothing wrong with it, and to think we are supposed to be liberal.

From: Lasthrys on 18-Nov-2007 at 07:11am

wow.. they pick up this pathetic shit instead of fixing our justice system? thats just fucked.

From: Adythiel on 18-Nov-2007 at 05:36am

So, what's next? Removal of any holiday decorations that contain the phrase "Ho Ho Ho" in it? Removal of that phrase from any books or shows on television that contain it?

Absolutely a new low for Political Correctness. How many years has "Ho Ho Ho" been associated as Santa's traditional laugh? Way to go PC...another stupid and shameless win for being politically correct. Yay!

From: Rysanna on 18-Nov-2007 at 02:31am

The only ones who would be offended would be the Hoes. A respectable female wouldn't care.

From: License2stab on 18-Nov-2007 at 02:09am

hehe, i saw that in the news the other day... *rediculous* .

They also want santa to be skinny because its supposedly "teaching children the wrong message on obesity".

From: joshthor on 18-Nov-2007 at 01:36am
