Funcom announces 500,000 people signed up for AoC Beta

I thought this was fairly interesting. I'm not sure if at this point with the MMO market 500,000 is a good or bad thing, but the interest is definitely there. Technically they have more people "wanting" to play than most other MMO's.

Would nice to get a beta invite (said 495,000 other people and I). Does anyone know if guildcafe will have an AoC beta invite contest or lottery?

Also,
How many of those 500,000 are people signing up from multiple computers/email addresses in the hopes of getting multiple tickets in the lottery?

I think this is a very good sign.
Now, I wonder if they can expose how many people that sign up play consistently through the beta
