This is good, gives me more time to test PotBS. WAR is not an issue since they're completely different games for completely different crowds and there's no reason to compare them to eachother. AoC and WAR that is, I suppose PotBS and WAR are a bit closer to eachother in terms of large scale concept but PotBS is more open and thus should be leaning more towards the FFA style crowd that AoC is going for.

Good, now if Crysis can just hold a release date I won't be completely disappointed this holiday. The industry has really fallen flat on their faces this Christmas as nothing seems capable of holding a pre-holiday release.

good for them, more power to a game that takes their time to improve features via beta tester feedback.

I'm ALMOST kind've glad that they delayed it. Hopefully it has a smooth-ish launch!

with the october release, I'd have given AoC a try. with that release date, I'd rather choose WAR.

the German community manager said the release was mainly due to beta tester feedback: the players thought the real-time combat system was not very intuitive and user-friendly. thus, Funcom decided to give the combat an overhaul to increase accessibility to the game.

They moved their launch date to go head-to-head with WAR? Gutsy!

This page was moved, but you can find it once you arrive on the Funcom site by clicking on "news." Basically it says the release date is March 25 2008.

I have to say since they said it was an exact date that I believe them--I am sure they carefully considered every aspect before announcing. I am taking it as a commitment on their part. It's a Tuesday, a good day to crush your enemies...

Really a shame. But five months is not a small delay. On the other hand, less competition for Pirates of the Burning Sea.
